They wont bring a large number to the GB ever again. When the expurg of 80' happened they had broaded it to 14 members. They of course are traumatized.

Russian Ban upheld - JWs lose appeal
by OrphanCrow inthe supreme court of russia has rejected the jehovah's witnesses' appeal.. https://jw-russia.org/news/17071719-195.html.
july 17, 2017 the supreme court of russia has missed the last chance to restore law and justice for the 175,000 russian citizens professing the religion of jehovah's witnesses.
it took less than an hour of the meeting a panel of three supreme court judges, to leave unchanged the decision taken earlier by the judge yuri ivanenko, the liquidation and ban any and all registered organizations of the religion.since there is no more effective domestic remedies, the believers will appeal to the european court of human rights and other international organizations.. *note: as reported by the jworg source, jw-russia.org.

No, I dont. I actually heard the reading of this letter at the meetinf, like two weeks after the ban.
the main thing was that the community of witnesses here in Brazil went to the utmost nonsense and they started to put dozens of letters in only one big package and send it to the embassador.
I told my elders that I didnt think it was it the GB meant, since for me it was clear the GB wanted NUMBERS. They wanted to show the world "see how many people care about us". Incredibly, most of the witnesses in here believed that the embassador, or even Putin was going to actually read the letters. You can see by that the intelectual level of the Group. Also some publishers went overexcited about the campaign and posted part or full letters on the internet and some of them made memes about the campaign.
well, in the letter they talked about how sad was the ban on russia, firstly thanked all support by letters but THEN started to talk about how the 'instructions' from the GB should br followed strictly. The letter mentioned specifically the confusion about sending a pack of letters, posting on internet and the memes.
it could be taken as something normal, but if you notice that they said three or four sentences to thank the brothers and sisters and a long explanation about how they had screwed up, you can see clearly what was the thought on the GB's heads.

I think this ban is totally on the purposes of thhe russian orthodox church, it hurts the religion freedom of the people from there when they are not free to talk about what they believe.
on the other hand I think the government shutting down the offices of the WT in Russia isnt a bad thing, anyway. For me shutting down the branches affects the GB much more directly than attacking the individual JWs. When the individuals suffer, the community gets united.
my disappointmemt was mainly because there were some brothers in Eritreia that were more than 20 years in jail because they refused to hold a gun to kill, an action worthy of praise. In this case the GB always told the JW to pray for these brothers.
well when Russia attacked the branch, the website, the publications, they lost their minds, ignated a shameful letter campaign which drove close to political involvement, (after that the GB sent a letter to all congregations partially blaming them for the failure of the campaign), and had no shame to study their past court victories and say it was God blessing them while said that the most recent lost was persecution ans God would still show his power.
I just wished they made the same efforts for the Jw in Eritreia and took that brothers out of Jail.

Has anybody experienced a judicial committee in a private venue?
by Chook ini think getting them to agree to a private place would give you an edge (even if the egde of their sword closer to home).
if i'm ever hauled before their kangaroo court i will only go on one of three conditions .1 non jw venue .2 with legal representation .
3 the recording of proceedings.

Im treated as a DF person even though they never took the action.
Stuckinarut this is kind of perfect. The people who really cares about you won't stop talking to you since there's no announcement. The others, I suppose you don't miss them.
Oh man, I so hope it goes this way with me.

What a beautiful day for service!
by StephaneLaliberte ini heard this expression very often and even said it often myself.
now that i am out, i realize this isn't always the case.
there were many times i was going out in service saturday morning and couldn't wait for 12:00 to come along so that we could go swimming, bicycling, play basket ball, go to the beach... .

That's normal, The service is much more work than religious behavior. We may kindo of like our job, normally because we think of the reward, our wage in this case. The JW also consider this a job and their wage is now the feeling that they are ok with God, since no elder will visit them to talk about spirituality if they work many hours on the field. There's the most important wage for them that is their hope to live forever what they are taught they are securing this by the preaching work.

Land of the living dead
by hoser inone of my children got disfellowshipped recently.
i was worried about that some of my jw friends and jw relatives would mention it to me and it would make for awkward conversation as i am glad that he is out.
i went to a jw family gathering.

I have a disfellowshipped person in my household and it's the same. Even the eleders only refers to him as "the chap". It's incredible, even when they send regards to the family they mention everyone in the house except him, in order to make clear that the regards weren't to the disfellowshipped.
